We're a bunch of friends who were bitten by the Green bug a long time ago. We always wanted to contribute to the Green cause in some way and hoped for a career that was in sync with it. Being trendy and fashion savvy as we are, we were always on the lookout for something which was trendy and Green. Being just across the river from NYC we thought that we had the best chance of finding stylish and Green fashion accessories but we were in for a rude shock when we found exorbitant prices and a lot of pseudo-green people everywhere we looked. The inspiration for Terra Trendz came from the unavailability of affordable and trendy eco-friendly fashion alternatives. Our motivation to work towards starting Terra Trendz was to be able to offer something to everyone, even people who don't have a big network of Green boutiques around them. Needless to say Terra Trendz has given us a chance to fulfill the dream of a career which keeps us close to to the Green Revolution. So, no matter what your style, your taste or your budget, we strive hard to provide you that one special thing that has your name written on it.

Fashion: Not just what's on your body but what's on your mind

We at Terra Trendz believe that recycling can play a very big role in the long run in reducing our carbon footprint. We offer many products which have been given a second life once they had nowhere to go but a landfill. All the glass jewelry featured on Terra Trendz is made from post-consumer glass. Since working with recycled glass limits the creativity of the artists, it makes every piece of jewelry all the more special.

Another cause that we are very closely affiliated to is Fair trade.  It is an organized social movement that aims to help artisans in developing countries and promote sustainability. The movement advocates the payment of a "fair price" as well as social and environmental standards in areas related to the production of a wide variety of goods. Fair trade's strategic intent is to work with marginalized producers and workers in order to help them move towards economic self-sufficiency and stability. It also aims to allow them to become greater stakeholders in their own organizations as well as play a wider role in international trade.

Every product featured on Terra Trendz is handmade or handcrafted by artists from around the world. These artists either have a passion like ours to save our earth or are local artisans living in developing countries who're trying to make an honest living. Hand crafted products involve hard labor and a deft hand for attaining the workmanship the product enjoys. These products are more environment friendly than machine made products and are usually free from hazardous materials. Plus, the joy of having something which has a face and a story behind it is a feeling comparable to none.
